Yes, this will make a monochromatic anaglyph, altho' there is an
unnecessary step. The Left image need only be converted to grayscale. After
the Right image is converted to gray, then RGB, the Left grayscale can be
pasted into the Right image Red channel. It is not really necessary to
trash the Green channel; this is a personal preference.
My steps are:
1. Open left image, convert to grayscale
2. Open right image, convert to grayscale, convert to RGB
3. Copy Left grayscale to clipboard
4. Paste into Red channel of right image.
Making a color anaglyph is not much different, in fact a little simpler.
Simply cut and paste the red channel from the Left image into the Right
image Red channel. Many images are not successful in color anaglyph.
If you need to align the images, use Filter-Other-Offset.
