Ha! It is as heavy as the Realist. (I know the Realist *feels* heavier
because of the "boxy" design"...)

The Revere is a fine viewer. No need to alter it for 7p because it is
a 7p viewer. I still prefer my red button but I use Revere lenses for
lens' replacement if needed (the two lenses are very similar in FL and
diameter). Plus, the red button can be opened to 8p. I would not try
that to a Revere.
