P3D Re: VM and Kids, VM interaxial/interocular (2nd try)

Heres my second try.
I'm wondering if people are making the mistake of thinking that if the
viewers lenses are each 15mm wide, and they are 65mm apart, then they
would accomodate someone with an interocular spacing of 50mm (as measured
from the center of one pupil to the center of the other pupil when
looking it infinity).
I don't know, but it seems that the following factors would make the
usable eye spacing much closer to 60mm:
* A person's pupil is about 3-4mm wide,
* The position of the eyes are not fixed and move left to right to see
the entire image (making the resultant minimum interpupil distance
several milimeters less than the persons measured interocular spacing)
* The distance from the pupil to the viewer's lens is 3mm or more if you
are blessed with a substantial schnozz, and/or wear glasses.
It would be interesting to see an equation showing the relationship
between the size of someone's pupil, the distance from the eye to the
viewer's lens, the focal length of the lens, the range of motion the eye
uses to see the image, and the size of the image that can be seen.
