So, using the 1/30 rule, if the distance from your foremost lens to your
subject gave you a 1/2 inch base, what would a measurement from the film
plane to your subject (15 inches + distance from foremost lens to film
plane) give you? Is this closer the the 1.5 to 2 inch separation you
were satisfied with? Or, is this still a bit hyper and you are more
partial to hyper close ups?
I think some experimentation in this area to validate the calculations
might be in order.
