Hello to all!
It was certainly a pleasure to put faces to the @ signs. Seeing your new
enthusiastic faces certainly gives stereo a bright future. Are there more
budding Bob Bloombergs out there? Yet, as I read the various reports from
the Convention, I am sorry that I didn't meet more of you. Perhaps, next
year at Green Bay.
We showed the Nu-View stereo adapter for video cameras with demo tape to as
many as were interested. And the reaction was very favorable with many
Wows!
John Dukes was at our table showing his Transposing Viewer. It's a slick
gadget that allows you to view your uncut film strip in a variety of
formats - 2x2, Realist, Nimslo. The lenses are spectacular. John comes up
with the nifftiest ideas! We also had the Dukes Super 12X on hand for
demonstration. For those not familiar with this product, it's a V-M reel
viewer that magnifies the image 12 times. He also showed a prototype of
the new light source for viewer. As soon as I can, I'll upload pictures of
both of these products to our website.
Someone mentioned the "funky" large color lenticulars that were available
for sale. These images were taken with a modified Bonnet camera in the
1950s as publicity shots for 3D movies and were displayed in theatre
lobbies to promote the films. The same gentleman who took those pictures
is STILL producing these lenticulars from the original transparancies. The
John Wayne with the Realist camera was a spur of the moment shot since his
"portrait shot" was the one of him smoking. The Realist one was only
recently discovered in the photographer's filing cabinet. Wonder what else
is lurking there?? Hopefully we'll get a chance to visit him soon.
Mark Blum mentioned that he has a new book in the works - about Reptiles
and Lizards or something like that.. He's the author of "Bugs in 3D" and
"Beneath the Sea." Publishing successful 3D books is possible! Chronicle
Books, the publisher, also did "Civil War in Depth" which we sell.
I have so much more to say, but gotta get going and long posts are not
appreciated. Working hard on the next issue of INSIDE 3D!!!! If you aren't
a subscriber, you ain't with it.

As for that Macro camera that Paul B. asked about, it was purchased for
$4,200 and the new owner is asking $5,800. Ain't me!
