Thought I'd share my "find" at NSA '98. It is a Hawk Mark VI projector. I
didn't know much about it when I bought it, but it looked like a
well-engineered projector, lighter than TDCs so I took a chance. I had
been looking for a good bright alternative to our TDC and thought this
might be it.
I asked Bob Aldridge if he could provide some info about this odd looking
blue thing and he generously took the time to go through it. "You just
don't see many of these over here" said Bob. They were produced in the
U.K. by a gent named Nottingham who also made the Albion mounts (which we
sell [blatant commercial plug] ) with a factory located on Albion Rd.,
hence the name.
I'm so delighted with it and look forward to using it. If memory serves
me, there was a write-up on it in the short-lived publication that followed
"Reel 3D News." If anyone is interested in knowing more, let me know. I'll
see what I can do.
I loved the personal tour given by Bob and thank him for the time taken.
Don't know how I would have figured out some of the projector's nuances
without Bob's assistance.
