I don't know, but I would think the dye-imbibition process (when done as a
two color process) would be the most likely cause of color deficiencies. 

Hopefully, this "graphic" clarify's the fact that two filters can transmit
the full spectrum; that any color can be derived from a combination of two
colors, that dropping in a third filter isn't necessary.
