P3D NSA Auction ---Stereo Slides?????

I was rather surprised to find no contemporary stereo slides in the NSA
Auction at Richmond, since, following a rather lengthy discussion on P3d
after the Seattle Convention on this subject, George Themelis indicated
he would put some of his slides in this year's auction. He also wrote
that he would have a viewer at the Auction so folks could see what stereo
slides are all about.
This was an interesting offer and I was looking forward to being able to
"pay off the NSA Mortgage" with the profits from his stereo slides. But
this didn't happen.
Perhaps there are no slide collectors out there and slides might not sell
at the Auction. There was one set of slides(26 total) included with a
Viewer in the Auction. This lot brought $60 more than the same type
viewer without slides. You can do the math. Maybe Dalia can give us
some input on stereo slide collectors, since she had some slides for
sale at her table.
I encourage all stereographers (cards, slides and lenticulars) to
contribute their works to the annnual NSA Auction. It is a good
moneymaker for the organization and the more we have in it, the more
interesting it is.
There were 217 lots in this year's NSA Auction. 28 of them came out my
darkroom. That is about 13%, which may not be a record, but it is a
pretty good average, I think.
As far as I can determine there has never been a single item, that has
been offered to the Auction, turned down. So please think about it.
