This is the venting part.
I am the NSA VP of Activities. I didn't have much to do with this year's
convention (it was a good one, so I wish that I could take some credit).
However, if you have any suggestions or complaints, I am the person to send
them to, since I will be able to address the issues in future conventions.
To echo Bill Davis' remarks, the Stereo World package is how we communicate
with NSA members. Even if you don't want to read history articles, at least
read the administrative part to see if it relates to your interests. Since
the message didn't get through, the NSA needs to improve communications.
Photo 3-D is one way to do that. However, the official, 100% certain way, is
through SW.
To vent a little frustration, I spent a long Thursday at the NSA Board
Meeting. I could have been room hopping or getting educated by the many
people more expert than I (or even eating dinner). Officers don't get a free
lunch - I paid for my registration, banquet & breakfast fees, exhibition fees
and trade show fees. I may ask Boris to conjure up on his computer a evil,
twin-headed monster to represent the monolithic history-devils who run NSA,
based on many posting on Photo 3-D.
On a more positive note, there is a rather substantial NSA organizational
presence on Photo 3-D. In addition to myself, there is Bill Walton (Board
Chairman), Larry Moor (President) and Mary Ann Sell (VP). A couple NSA
honchos are not on Photo 3-D because it is mostly just about that shooter
stuff :-)
