P3D Nimslo fill flash

Hi again,

The picture taking tips from 3-Dx recommend
using flash indoors and outdoors to eliminate
shadows. We might debate the wisdom of this
but I'm still interested in trying fill flash
with my Nimslo.

I do have the Opti-Lite flash, but it doesn't
seem to me that it is useful outdoors (daylight).
AFAIK the camera sets the shutter to 1/30 at f5.6
when it detects the flash is present and on.
Thus any daylight shots will have fill flash
but the film will be terribly overexposed
from the low shutter speed and wide aperture.

Is there any way to do fill with the Opti-
Lite flash? Insulate the extra contact perhaps.

Or maybe use a different flash, try to
estimate what aperture the Nimslo will be
using and then set the flash to 1 or 1.5
stops down to fill in shadows.

  Any other ideas?

Thanks - Greg E.
