Not to mention completely off the mark! I can think of no one
who has given more freely and tirelessly in support of stereo
photography than George Themelis. Whether you agree or disagree
with his opinions, you cannot dispute the incredible contributions
he makes to P3D alone. Do you think someone is paying him to do
it? How many times is he the first, and often the only person, to
answer a question, even newbie questions that have been asked
over and over? And his postings in P3D are only the tip of the
iceberg. I know he also freely dispenses loads of information and
advice in off-list e-mail discussions. And on top of that he
has written articles for Stereo World and Inside-3D. He has helped
stereo hobbyists all over the country by engaging in private slide
exchanges to give them feedback and support, and now has taken on
the enormous task of starting a thriving new club from scratch,
while accepting for himself a Herculean share of the burden once
it started. I wish I had the energy to generate to even 10% of
his output! What he does freely and with scant recognition and
gratitude is truly amazing. It is almost beyond belief that he
could be a mortal from this planet and do as much he does. I
could not do as much if I devoted 24 hours per day, 7 days per
week to trying.
> I pray George ignores this poorly-considered blather.
Yes, George, do not even dignify these comments with a reply! I
can scarcely imagine how stinging they must feel with all you do
for stereo, but Tom is absolutely right. Try to ignore those
awful words!

I venture a guess that virtually no one on this list would consider
doing what George does with cameras and viewers for the pittance
he receives for his effort. One look at a T'd RB fresh from its
birthplace in Brecksville, Ohio should be enough to convince anyone
that George is effectively giving away his labor out of his love
for stereo. And when he started out he was even actually giving
away the equipment just to get others to take up the hobby he loves!
If over the next few days we hear from only 1/5 of the people who
have benefitted from DrT's free information dispensing and other
generosities in recent years, Calcite will burn-up from the overload!
Absolutely aghast,
Paul Talbot
