This is the specific example of stereo-base vs. focal length "compensation"
in the shortened McKay quote I posted a couple weeks ago (and the long quote
earlier this year).

In summary, yes it kinda-partially compensates, but "not really".  However
if you like the result, "kewl" and "go for it".
