Here's a message I thought might be of some interest to those
doing camera restoration. It's from a list I'm on regarding 
radio antennas... dunno how well it works, or if there is any
way to get this Aluminum polish here...

|I solve this problem with ordinary cleaning vinigar.
|If the affected part fits into the ultrasonic cleaning tank the oxidation is gone in 10 minutes.
|
|In the diving industry  we pass a lot off aluminum that should NOT have bean at sea..... :-(
|
|Polish the aluminium with "Commandant number 4" and give it a nice coating.
