Boris, these discussions are banned from p3d! :-)

Out of curiocity, how would you design a *general purpose* camera
so that it encourages close-ups???
>Instead the shot ended up looking flat and not realistic.
To your eyes perhaphs.... One of the effects of using a smaller stereo
base is to make things look bigger. There are people who prefer a
Duplex ISO stereo camera with 35 mm base to a Realist (70 mm base)
*for normal* stereo pictures. I think this proves that "flat"
and "realistic" are in the eyes of the observer. And, here, I will
break the news: I was the higest bidder for the Duplex ISO camera
in John Saddy's auction! My thriving stereo business allowed me
to add one more stereo camera in my camera bag. I can now record
normal stereo pairs with less "depth"!!!
>But if you seek more depth in a view, as I often do...
A BIG "if" my friend...
Yeah, I know.... I am really a nice guy in person... Look Boris, I
made Tom quit (take a break for a while)... so, be careful! :-)
