P3D Limitations
Message text written by INTERNET:photo-3d@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
>When I switched from film to video, one of the really big adjustments
I had to make what that there was so much TIME with video - I'd been
used to hand cranked standard 8 mm cameras where 30 seconds was
considered a long shoot. When I got my first video camera, I didn't
know what to do with all that tape!<
After posting my wisecrack about the relative length of home movie shows, I
noticed that several others had beat me to the punch with similar
observations. While the extra time on a videotape is freeing, sometimes I
think there is something to be said for limitations, too. I remember
shortly after the old eight-character file names became obsolete, some kid
began posting files on Usenet with massive, paragraph-long file names, and
when someone complained about them, they got flamed with one of those
steamy Usenet attacks characterizing old fashioned limitations being the
work of the devil, or something of the sort. But most files I create are
still identified in eight characters, and I have no trouble decoding them.
I feel it's the people who need to write an entire paragraph for a file
name that have the limitation--not me.
