It can not be done from the surface of the earth, so lets assume
that the distance is 10 miles. Using a Realist you will have two
identical photographs and no stereogram.

That depends on the distance to the nearpoint in the motive.
If the nearpoint is farther away than around 10000 times the base
you will have so little parallax, that no depth is seen. In this
case the perception of depth is depending on other factors than
stereopsis.

That depends on the opinion of your audience ;-) You will find
supporters and antagonists as in any other religion.
