There are two blades in mine. 
They make a square and change continuously acording the aparture dial.

Exactly.
Generally speaking, you can take 24 pairs from a 120 roll.
Incidentally, Mr. Mikami, a member of our local stereo club takes 
30 pairs from it.
Using a ball-point pen, he marks a dot on the back of film each shot
THROUGH the first window.
He made a small hole at the top of the first window and
after the shot, winds film until the mark reach the center of the
second window(not the top of it). 
There is no space between pairs vertically. But you can get 30 pairs.

I'm not courageous to make a hole in my Duplex Super, though :-)
