I think you are mixing up depth and stereopsis.  A one-eyed picture can
show quite a lot of depth, otherwise generations of painters have been
wasting their time learning perspective.

Sereopsis is not the only depth cue available, although it is a
tremendously powerful and frequently neglected one.

BTW, I think you'll find the Stereosexual thing was a joke.  No disrespect
needed.
