P3D Realist Vignetting at f/16?

I've got a recently acquired Realist f3.5, and I knew I'd have vingnetting
at f/22 (as I saw it in film I had shot and later confirmed with Dr. T that
was indeed what I was seeing).  Yesterday I got two rolls of film back, and
I swear I shot the sunny stuff at, guess what, "Sunny 16", but I am seeing
vingnetting at f/16.

1. Is this common or perhaps I need a CLA?

2. I am imagining a cone of image coming through a f/16 small aperture
wherein the edges of the image circle are clipped off by something
internally before they get to the film plane.  Is this about right?

I'd surely appreciate any info, confirmation, speculation, experience or
general education anyone has to offer.
