jnorman805@xxxxxxx (Jim Norman) asked about relative merits of 3D projectors.
Doing a search on the WWW site for photo-3D will yield lots of messages on
that subject.
I have an old 1950's NORD, which was bought used. It comes in a sturdy cloth
covered plywood case which has suitcase style snap locks on both ends, and
removable top with handle. This case interior bottom is blue plush. The whole
setup weighs 18 lbs on our bathroom scale, measures 8-1/2" b y 17" by 13"
(tall). The projector and carrier are extremely easy to remove and be be
replaced into this fitted case. The whole thing is very handy and attractive.
It has very good 4 inch focal length lenses and an aluminum carrier with 25+
mm by 25+ mm openings and comes with aluminum dummy realist size slide with
round openings. Has 3 knob adjustment, horizontal, vertical, focus. The front
leg is adjustable for overall height. There is a back switch for controlling
the lamps without controlling the fan, so that you can keep running the fan
for cooling after the lamps are shut down.
It costs about half of the price of the (used) TDC 116.
BTW, I've never had mine jam with cardboard or metal slides. In other words it
has always fed the slides well.
