Hi Everybody,

I need the considerable collective brain power of this list brought to
bear on a difficulty that I'm having.

I have a Realist in which Zak installed a PC connector which I had
never tried with a flash. Since my Olympus (bracket mount) flash can
only mount to the left of the camera (where the blasted shutter
release is) I bought a used Toshiba bracket mount flash on eBay (it is
reversible so can be used on either side). When it arrived and after
connecting it, the Realist would NOT trigger the flash. My Kodak
Stereo and OM-2 will both trigger this Toshiba flash. If I connect my
OM flash to the Realist it, too, will fire. The only combination that
*won't* work is the one for which I specifically bought the flash
(Realist + Toshiba). This rules out problems with the camera and PC
cord which were my first two guesses. The only thing I can imagine at
this point is that perhaps the switch contacts in the Realist are
making so briefly that the Toshiba flash does not "see" it. Is this
possible? I hope I explained this clearly enough.

Please put on your thinking caps, 'cuz MY BRAIN HURTS!

Thank you, one and all,

Jay
