I fully agree. Yet remember that the first stereo images ever,
Wheatstone's drawings, intentionally were made to exclude monocular
cues. Again, Julesz designed the random-dot stereogram to exclude
monocular cues. Some of these images are fascinating. But that is
Science, not Art. And of course science has proven that monocular cues
enhance stereopsis.
