P3D Using two Nikon N90s for 3D photography ?

Anybody on this list use two Nikon N90s or F5 cameras hooked together
side by side with an MC-23 connecting cord to take stereo pictures?  I
thought I might invest in a second Nikon N90s to do this.  If anybody
has done this how does the system work for 3D photography in general?
Do your use Auto Focus and if so does it work well?
