'Allo,

Tony Davies asked:-

>I see that 3rd Rock from the Sun is being relased here in the UK in 3D,
>it must be out already stateside ........ any thoughts?????

Unless they've made a 2nd 3D episode I saw it on Sky some months back, and
it's utter crap.

The plot revolves around the aliens beginning to dream, and thinking it is
a severe problem. The dream sequences are done as pulfrich 3D.

Now you may or may not like pulfrich, but the "director" of the 3D
sequences doesn't seem to have understood how it works at all. One shot
had a couple dancing directly towards the camera, which would have been
great in a conventional paired shot but in pulfrich IT'S STILL BLOODY
FLAT!

In another dance sequence a woman in the background is dancing from left
to right, the same as the foreground characters. Ooops!

There are some good shots, Sally eating a spinning globe for example. The
globe looks great, perfect pulfrich effect. Shame the camera wasn't
panning around Sally though. Everything else in the shot was flat.

I could go on, but lets just say that as a 3D film it's a good example of
missing the point.
