P3D The abrasive attitudes on this list

I joined P3D about 3 months ago and at first thought I found a great
place to meet new people who shared my interest in 3D that I have had
since a little kid. I wrote to the list a few times commenting how
'nice' everyone was and how some people had written me off list to offer
help on my questions. I have made 3 friends I talk to off list who are
exceptionally nice and informative people (Andrea, Gabriel and Norm).
However over the last two months I have a totally different perception
of P3D. The general feeling I get is one of hostility and arrogance. I
no longer post questions to the list because I know some a-----e will
make a rude comment and act like why did he even think that he could
ask that question......how stupid Joseph must be for thinking he could
come to this information trading list and ask a question!
I am glad to see that other folks are speaking up about this problem as
well. If it were not for the info I learn and the web sites I found out
about I would have droped off this list two months ago!
The people who write responses to questions on this list need to keep in
mind that this is an information exchange of techniques, ideas and tech
help for experienced stereographers and novice stereographers not a
venue to show how smart you are and try to make the questioner feel like
an idiot!!!! If you must be that hostile go join a neo-nazi newgroup
and spout your hatred to them, not nice folks who are trying to learn
and improve their craft.
If the nasty people calm down, I would like to start posting questions
and ideas. I will not though until there is more civility on this list.
I will just have to keep silent and read the postings that I'm
interested in and ask the 3 people I know off list any questions I may
have, and I'll be missing any good advice that someone more experienced
may have. I joined this list to learn........... not be insulted!!
I hope everyone had a great weekend and I look forward to reading
informative and non-hostile postings in the future.
