P3D Web TV

A couple of list members have asked me about the performance of Web TV,
primarily the quality of images like anaglyphs and stereo pairs. Web TV
has some redeemable merits. ( they are cheap.....thankyou....good night
:-)
The hookup option and type of TV are paramount. Best results are
obtained by using the S-video output to a 32" or larger TV. The
composite signal ( RCA jacks instead of S video) lend to some image
blooming and dot crawl. With S- video, the image will rival laser disc
or satellite broadcasts which I believe reside in the 425-500 line of
resolution quality. The images look quite good here, and barring
tremendous detail, may even rival a .28 dot pitch computer monitor most
of the time. I enjoy lying on the couch and surfing the net with the
wireless keyboard ( the images look great on my 35" Toshiba) however I
am reluctant to sit up to view stereo pairs! :-) "Anaglyphs rule" after
11 PM. :-O
