Hello.
I am just joined the list and perhaps this question has been discussed in
the past. So forgive me if I am asking for something already explained.
The question is: what software (PC or MAC compatible) can I use to do
stereometry on stereo micrographs?
We are currently working on sequentally obtained SEM stereo pairs of the
sunflower capitulum surface. The images are digitized from an JEOL SEM (7-9
plus 7-9 degrees tilting etc. etc.) and captured with ANALYSYS. We want to
detect external subtle changes associated with cell division activity
beneath the surface after hormone treatments.
It would be very useful for us to obtain a 3D reconstruction from the
pairs. In such way we could use the 3D data to render the image in a
program like NIH Image to accurately describe and quantify changes in shape
and height of newborn floret primordia and not only subjective changes in
the surface.
Does anyone have experience about this procedure or know if is there any
software (preferently share or freeware) to work with NIH Image
(particularly a plug in or a macro) to reconstruct a 3D surface from
stereopairs?
