    Depending on how one defines "active", I think I've got you beat by
five years :-).
    I first started experimenting in stereo in 1982 after seeing a
realist format viewer and slides at a (now defunct) used camera store. 
I then started taking a few "cha-cha" stereo pictures with a 35mm Ricoh
I had (seems funny now - then I seriously believed I was the only person
in the world to try taking stereo pictures with one camera!).  
    My regular-basis stereography began with the purchase of a Realist
in December, 1984 (at 21 YOA).
    I think there are a lot of younger stereo fans out there.  You might
not see them at meetings because many may be intimidated with the
formality of meetings with their emphasis on contests, and may younger
adults work afternoon shift (as now I do :-(  )
