hi p3d'ers!! ok, it's my turn!! my cries were heard first 3 months
after pearl harbor!! in 1952, my grandma, in order to settle me down
for a while, handed me a strange looking wiewing apparatus and said,
"here, look at this"!!!
a stereoscope and 100 views of wwI in a box that looked like two fake
books!!! i didn't put it down until i had looked at and read every
single card!! grandma was able to get some stuff done too!!! and not
only that, the trick worked for her many times !! i remember getting out
the old stereoscope for many years after that! when i got my first
viewmaster, i was a little dissapointed with the tiny format!!
in 1991 i found a 3.5 realist at a garage sale for $20 and started to
use it to do my light paintings in the dark! (3d streaks of colored
lights against a black background)
in 1995 my dads sister died and and unexpectedly left his five children
$40k each!!! i thought, "how wonderful! now's the time!!" and called jon
golden to order my rbt x2! he said, "you won't even have to wait!! rbt
is sending an extra one along with the special orders, in a week!!"!!!!
i love it and it just keeps ticking, especially when i remember to
change it's batterys!! (the only thing wrong with it is the batt.
indicator fibs to you) i've been using it in recent light painting
experiments involving models in multiple time exposures and it's been a
great piece of gear to work with!!!! you can see examples of it's work
at <http://www.3dexpo.com/> which is a long way from that old
stereoscope that got me interested in 3d!!!!!
tooDDeloo!! john baird! creative stereography! kansas city!
