P3D Comments from our Pittsburgh members

I enjoyed Mark's posting on our OSPS October meeting... full with
a fine sense of humor.... I also enjoyed both Mark and Karen's
slides. The fact that they did not go very well with the judges
(or the people! :-)) means nothing. Keep on shooting and trying
and better days will come! Don't be disappointed!

>when I congratulated Don Peck on his tremendous images around the globe,
>I kid you not....his comment to me was.. " You just got to be there,
>when you visit a beautiful place and take a few pictures....you can't go
>wrong...you'll win something!" Hum......stay home and photograph bugs or
>travel to exotic lands......?..........I better get packing. Got
>"people" category next month. I understand the Swiss are very friendly.:-)

That's what I hear too Mark! But a picture of Karen will suffice :-)

Karen comments: "And once again....it seems one NEVER knows what the
judges choose as winners."

It seems that some people have a much better sense about this than
others. One example from our club is Harold Kaiman. He always makes
"the right choice" as far as I am concerned. It takes some kind of
talent (that I don't possess). Usually the maker of the image is
too involved to be able to make an objective choice and evaluation
of his own work.

And then, you never know.... My picture of the "fish straight up" was
entered in Detroit too and it got average or below average score.
Similar picture in Cleveland won award. Just got the scoring card
from Detroit PSA Salon. Zero acceptances (I have my worse luck with
this salon). That's life... I will keep on trying my best!
