It does vary with the camera.  I know in the Revere it is in the
middle of a perforation hole, but in the Realist the frame line
is between two perforations.  I find the Revere chips harder to
work with, especially in RBT mounts.

Sorry I can't help with the other items.  I've never done my
own heat sealing.
