May I ask if the fan on your TDC is running? I have seen many older
slide projectors (2D) with inoperational fan motors, and my TDC model
116 suffers from "slow start", that is, the motor starts out slow and
takes about a minute to achieve its full speed.
I just modified mine so that the fan motor starts as soon as the
projector is plugged in, seperate of the light switches (this is not
necessary with the 716 as it has a fan-only switch position)
Since the fan and motor in the 116 is housed in a large uncluttered
portion of the housing, it would seem easy to replace the fan with a
modern unit.
Anyone on the list know how many CF/min (the usual nonmetric unit of
a fan's ability to move air) the fan on the TDC has?
