P3D discovering 3D

As a child in Cleveland, I spent many a rainy afternoon gazing with
wonder through a stereoscope at my family's collection of Keystone
stereo cards. My father owned a Stereo Realist which he used mainly
on trips and vacations, and I think my real interest started back then.
In college years I began a collection of antique images (daguerreotypes,
tintypes, ambrotypes,) which grew to include a collection of antique
cameras and a variety of unusual stereoscopes. I purchased a
Realist f2.8 from a camera club friend, but stored it away for several
decades until it turned up again and I decided to try it out for prints.
The learning process was helped after discovering Photo-3D, Dr. T.,
PSA's Stereo Division, (although I had been a PSA member for
many years, active mainly in the Pictorial Print Division working
with b&w salon prints,) NSA and SSA -- participating in their
stereocard circuits and folios. Joining APEC was soon to follow.
I have exhibited cards in all the PSA Stereo Division card salons,
and have just reached my 2nd Star. Although I enjoy the Realist
(when people or other moving objects are in the photograph,) I
also use a Maxxum 700si and a Pentax IQZoom 140 for sequential
exposures, aligning and mounting the print pairs for the 3D effect.
