P3D Close-ups with the Realist

This one is a real gem!

As you know, the Realist will focus as close as 2.5 feet.  At
this point the focusing wheel is stopped by a little screw.
It is possible to take close-ups with your Realist by loosening
this screw and focusing past 2.5 feet!

According to Bruce Mills (I read the article in a past issue of
"The Stereo Window", publication of the Detroit Stereographic
Society, reprinted from the "Stereoscopic Society Bulletin")
the next round of the focusing wheel will let your Realist
focus between 20 and 14 inches!

The rangefinder and viewfinder both work properly after bypassing 
the stop to focus closer than 2.5 feet!  But the author warns
not to try and advance the film because it is held under
very high pressure at this point!
