Hi Bob...I saw the Gilde Stereo at the ISU in Atlanta a few years
back...it is a beautiful thing....and makes an RBT look like a small
thing!!!
The results....were stunning...but then again the results were the skill
of Herman Miller.,..who is an excellent stereographer.

As far as the price goes, I checkeed in to this a few years ago...but it
was not practical to bring them in to the US for sale due to
demand...but if anyone wanted one...here are the rough costs... 12,980DM
converts to about a 1.73 DM to the dollar....according to your
estimate...sorry to tell you the real deal....the rates today are in the
low 1.6 range now...and you cant look at the price in the
newspapers...those are institutional rates for buying millions of
DM...not small amounts...so figure the Gilde will cost around
$8060.00US...then you have to ship it here (approx
150.00-200.00)...insure it (50.00),  add a bond fee (75.00), US customs
duties and processing fees (200.00-300.00 depending on what mood customs
is in that day...and customs is ALWYAYS right until you prove them
wrong)...and dont forget the wire or intn'l money order charge (unless
Gilde takes credit cards) of 15.00-35.00, plus how much time ar you
going to spend on the phone or fax to Europe figuring out what you want
(thats your call)....then you have yourself a Gilde for around
