want consistency of judging. They also do not accept View Master in the
same competition. I don't blame them, especially since it is very easy
to remount a 2x2x2 pair in an RBT wide mount.<<

As an exhibition co-chairperson, let me say this about mixed media
exhibitions. Think about very carefully! The Potomac Exhibition used to
be mixed media (including cards) and the logistics got very complicated.
It's harder to judge and keep score. We found that the few entries in
formats other than Realist-format slides were too time consuming, and,
because of constantly changing formats to show everything, possibly a
disadvantage to the maker. Sometimes 2x2x2s were shown in hand viewers
instead of setting up two projectors and switching back and forth
between projectors because there were only 12 entries out of over 250. I
feel it's harder for judges, too, when the top entries are spread out in
different formats to make comparisons (lights off; show Realist-mounted
slides; lights on; a) switch projectors, lights off, show 2x2x2s, lights
on OR b) pass 2x2x2s around in hand viewers; pass cards around in
viewers... and round and round until all of the awards have been made).
We looked over the last several years of entries and there weren't many
other types of media entered so we made it Realist-format slides only.
We feel this is fairer to the entrants. If you have the equipment and
the time, that's great; but it will take longer than only having one
format. Just my HO.
