I am not sure how high the bids would have to be for that high an
increment ($25), but on items in the $350 range the increment is only
$5. They keep it low enough that most people would be willing to go
"just one more increment" higher, given the chance, on an item that they
are interested in. If ebay ever were to go to a "5 minute rule", price
inflation would be even worse than it is now. Good for sellers, but not
for buyers. -Linda
