P3D Why ISU?

This is in response to LSmart's question about the value of Stereoscopy: 

   I just got back from an unforgettable 3D weekend in NYC,thinking the 
stereo universe was secured, when I was brought back to reality by 
LSmart's question about the ISU.  With the relative (compared to planar 
photography) short supply of photographic stereo support: organizations, 
materials, people, etc., why nit-pick?  The fortunes of the publication, 
Stereoscopy, wax and wane, but the price is right, and at its best, it's 
a matchless view on the rest of the world's take on 3D, (which 
incidentally they invented), including a number of familiar names that 
appear regularly on this listserv.
