P3D Delurk
Ok, time to delurk and introduce myself...
I've been following the list for about a month now, and I'm overwhelmed by
the wealth of information here. I've been doing stereo photography for
something close to ten years now, ever since I was inspired by one of Ron
Labbe's great roadshows at a local college campus. I've been doing random
dot stereograms since the early '90s, when Tom Baccei unleashed his StareEO
Workshop software. I shoot both 35mm print and slide film, both hyper and
hypo, mostly using a Pentax ME Super on a custom slidebar, or a pair of ME
Supers mated with a mechanical twin shutter release, with either f1.7 50mm
SMC lenses or twin Takumar 28-80 zoom lenses (at either the long or short
end). Does anyone else out there use ME Supers? I have found them to be
great for twin pairs, because of their tiny body size. (I plan to add a
stereo section to my photography website very soon...)
I've been doing stereo projection with a rather ratty pair of Kodak Carousel
750H projectors, and I definitely need something new if I want to get
serious about doing shows. Does anyone have any suggestions on what would
suit me best for doing twin 35mm projection? At the moment, I intend to
start shopping for a couple used Ektagraphics, although I'm not sure yet
which model I should start looking for. Would a TDC with setup for 2X2
slides make more sense?
Also... I would like to do some anaglyphs, but everything I've read is
related to creating them in Photoshop. Are any of the cheaper image-editing
programs capable of this, such as Photodeluxe, PaintShop Pro, or MS Image
Composer?
