Instead of using a laser pointer as an aid for focussing, why not
use those ultra-sonic range finders, available in hardware stores.

That reminds me... :-)

Q) Why did the Realist owner go to the hardware store?
A) To get an electronic bubble level.

Q) Why did the Kodak owner go to the hardware store?
A) To get an ultra-sonic rangefinder.
