I gather then, that the question is whether the brain "stores and
retrieves" the raw eye-data or does it store/retrive the 
post-processed version (stereo, etc info turned into "depth")
of knowledge.  And whether "seeing" in a dream is manipulation
and generation of raw data for visual processing or if the
dream-visuals are produced/injected in a form normally had after
the "eye-driver" processing.  Or both.  Now, if one dreams
about taking pictures with a stereo camera......
