Since I am one who posts to Sell-3D from time to time about 3D items
available directly from me, or on my web site, or on ebay I think I will
respond.

Let me get this straight... we made Sell-3D to move discussions about
products and services for sale off of Photo-3D, now we are looking at
possibly eliminating several types of "sell" related messages from
Sell-3D? What other types of mesages would be wrong?

I am well in to the production of a fantastic 3D-CD full of images from
Bill Walton, Stan White, Shab Levy, Craig Daniels, Old SSA enries, Bill
Patterson, Klaus Kemper, Walter Dubronner and others. Where whould I
post information about that project? I _think_ information about it
should be posted here to P3D, and sales info to S3D. What if I decide to
sell copies on ebay? (That's not the plan btw, just trying to provide an
example...)

I am confused... Aren't these actual sales of items? Is the problem that
there is too much competition for items on ebay? If sell-3D is not the
place for such posts, then were is the right place?

Is it a place to post want adds? I think it's doing exactly what it was
designed to do. Provide a place to talk about buying and selling 3D
things.

Why restrict it? Harsh as it might sound, there are people within the
*3D realm who believe if it isn't free, or only marginally above that
it's not fair. Remember the discussion about the 1st 3D-CD costing too
much?

People on ebay are willing to pay for what they get there, because they
can't find it otherwise. I sell things as trememdous bargains on ebay
all the time, but do so because I want more people to have access to the
item. On Sell-3D, the first person gets it, all others are out of luck.
On ebay, everyone has 7 days to decide. This past set of my sales for
example had two packets worth far more than $1.00 each for sale for just
that. They were still available to everyone on Sell-3D. They sold.
What's the problem?

I guess my question is why? If it's 3D, and it's for sale on a personal
web site, ebay, interauction, or where ever, isn't it something that can
be mentioned as being for sale there?
