most flatbed scanners dont scan slides without an adapter or something.  is
there anything in your scanner manuals about slides?
   i have an hp photosmart scanner; its made for slides, negs & prints up to
5x7.  the diff is that instead of opening it like a copying machine and
laying the image on glass, its fed into a slot (this is for all types
mentioned), where little rubber wheels drag it in past a scanner.
