This is interesting as I have had an idea for some time of combining a
stereoscope with binoculars but with both views in view at the same time.
The idea being to use it to identify the exact location that an old stereo
view was taken from. Perhaps with zoom facility in the binocular part to
reduce the amount of movement needed in one plane to find the exact spot.
Then use the device to take a new stereo view coupled to a camera for "Then
and Now" comparison. Although there would probably be problems getting old
views an those taken with a zoom to match. Perhaps the the above device
could be modified to test out the idea . P.J.Homer
