I think it's a boon for stereo photography.  Instead of having
"pickers" snatching up the $10 Realist Stereo projectors from
yard sales, there will be more of an owner-to-end-user mechanism
with the middleman being replaced by ebay's computers and the
network.  Long term this should make average end-user prices lower
with an overall evening of prices between locations of scarcity
and places of plentiful supply.

The long term threat is to the current distribution channels which
I think will eventually shrink leaving only those who adapted best to
the new distribution model.  The transisition between steady-state
distribution models is likely, however, not to be smooth or quick.  
My WAG anyway.  :-)
