Actually, in my experiments (using an ATI Rage II card), I find that
if I spec an NEC 3D monitor (ironic, no?) and stick it into 1024*768 mode
(interlaced) that I can use 24 bit color. Looks great! The scan lines are just
barely visible with little or no flicker. I use Depthcharge within Netscape
and it allows me to select whichever format is best (normally "Left First").
Incidentally, does anyone know of a monitor I can specify which will give me
interlaced at 800*600? When using the NEC 3D spec, it goes back to non-interlace
in 800* 600 mode.
