I just got some of these for gift giving and I notice that they
shave off a tiny bit of the top of the image. I can't get the
slide pushed down far enough in the slot to see the entire vertical
dimension. Does anyone know if this is normal for these viewers?

The $3 viewer now costs $3.25...

That's why I went with the folding ones. I need to mail about 8 of
them. Other advantages compared to the Radex are focus adjustment,
and not letting lots of light around the sides of the slide. The
disadvantages are the vertical cut-off mentioned above, being a
little harder to figure out how to use, and diffusers that come
with both removable and non-removable dirt. If ease of mailing
is the most important factor, the cardboard ones should do the
trick.
