The smaller opening is the correct side to view. There is nothing to 
consider, that is just the way it is and if you are doing it the other way 
you are wrong *{;-)

I have now enjoyed a few rounds of the SSA folio and I was 
surprised to find a lot of people mounting backwards. All were in 
heat seal mounts. The Spicer mount has two horizontal lines on the 
front of the mount as it is viewed so it is easier to spot at a glance. 
This is the smaller openeing and as Paul said the one with rounded 
corners. The alignment tabs on heat seal mounts show through to 
the front of the mount, so people might be mounting backwards so 
as not to see them when viewing.

Just remember that mounts are made to cleanly mask the film chip 
down to a viewable area and if you can see fringes or borders then 
you have probably mounted backwards.
