P3D RBT camera choice

Hi all,

I'm thinking seriously about an RBT camera and I'd like to get some
feedback. Ideally, I'd like both an S1 with 45mm base and an X3 with
75mm base, but I'm having a hard enough time justifying the expense of
one. Here are my concerns:

I like the idea of the S1's autofocus. I shoot a lot of portraiture and
I am afraid the fixed 35mm lenses would be too wide-angle for this
(although the shorter base would actually be better). I like the idea
of the X3's pop-up flash. The X3's zoom option would give a more
pleasing 80mm tele for portraits, but the 75mm base would be too wide
for close up work. Would mounting the full-frame close-up portraits in
4 or 5-perf mounts (and shifting the window accordingly) counter the
effect of the wide base enough to do close-ups? Anyone have any
experience doing close-up portraits with either camera?

Thanks,
Don
