P3D Slides or negatives? (not prints)

I am not sure what the point of this discussion is (availability and
use of slides vs. prints). The question is not slides or prints
but slide film vs. negative film. Now, with scanners that can scan
both negatives or slides and produce a fine print, what is the
advantage of using negative film which cannot be previewed at the
spot? If you are going to use film and plan to scan it and get
prints via the digital route, it makes more sense to use slides
than negatives. If one day all processing is digital maybe negative
film will drop out of favor and film manufacturers might put more
work into developing a low contrast, more forgiving slide film
(assuming that there is still a market for film).

Slide film has a totally different use in 3d than 2d. In 2d slide
film is used for publication and projection. In 3d slide film is
the final product and can be enjoyed with stereo viewers.

In 3d slide film is used by snapshooters (like Bill Davis) With places
that still mount stereo slides, there is not much to worry about.
(not much has changed since the 50s).
